This is a collaborative project between the Multilingualism Education Project at the Centre for Higher Education Development and the Centre of Excellence in Broadband Communication Networks and Applications (through STAR). The project is aimed at initiating research projects that will stimulate collective programming and Web authoring skills of project leaders and research students to develop the Human Language Technology tools for promoting the growth of indigenous South African languages. The project will generate research for the development of human language technology tools on the one hand, and their practical application in the processing and development of African languages, on the other.
