Even this very brief extract from the judgment contains a number of tricky quantitative concepts such as:
- 111% increase
- compounding effect of consecutive percentage increases
- growth rates.
Many students have difficulty with quantitative concepts in context, so are challenged when required to explain the meaning of the last paragraph.
