The Centre for Educational Assessments (CEA), located within UCT’s Centre for Higher Education Development, is South Africa's biggest post-school educational testing centre.

We are a centre of opportunity for a diverse learner population, offering leading-edge testing technology, innovative ideas, and dynamic service to our students, communities, and post-school institutions.
MISSION
To be the nationally preferred provider of meaningful research and assessments that contributes to access and success in post-school education and training.
We bring together a dedicated and experienced team of professionals serving CEA in areas of research and development in testing of students entering higher education in South Africa. It is our philosophy that students should begin to explore their potential for university readiness before they register at an institution of higher learning.

Science Forum SA 2025
We're excited to announce that CEA will be exhibiting at the Science Forum SA (SFSA) 2025, taking place from 24-28 November 2025 at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria.
SFSA is Africa's premier science engagement event, bringing together researchers, policymakers, and innovators to share ideas and inspire collaboration.
At our exhibition stand, CEA will showcase innovations in assessment and learning, share research insights, and engage with partners across higher education, science, and society.
