Associate Professor Kasturi Behari-Leak is the Dean of the Centre for Higher Education Development at the University of Cape Town.   

Mr Richard Perez is the founding director of the Hasso Plattner School of Design Thinking at the University of Cape Town,

His expertise and experience combine human-centred design with business thinking, management, and strategy. His area of specialisation is design thinking for innovation and strategic leadership. He advises organisations (private and public) in both South Africa, the Africa region, and internationally.

Ms Sukaina Walji is the Director: Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching – CILT at the University of Cape Town.

She oversees operational functions for the department, including supporting the growth and development of CILT’s capacity to design and develop blended and online courses.

Associate Professor Bob Osano is a researcher in astrophysics, cosmology, applied mathematics and mathematics education. He is passionate about broadening access to higher education for previously disadvantaged students and is keen on creating alternative pathways to achieve this.  

Mr Stafford Bomester joined the University of Cape Town’s Centre for Higher Education Development as the Director: Career Services on 1 October 2024. With extensive experience in management, administration, and stakeholder engagement, Stafford has held leadership roles in both public and private higher education institutions across the Western Cape.

I am Associate Professor in Language Development in the Academic Development Programme (ADP) in the Centre for Higher Education Development (CHED) faculty at the University of Cape Town.
